The Score

This movie was released in 2001, so I guess you would say it is an oldie but goodie.

I loved this movie in 2001 and again 2009 it was directed by Frank Oz and Robert De Niro so really how could you go wrong.
Edward Norton is funny and clever in this movie then again I love him too in just about everything he does. Marlon Brando to me made a sweet funny thief, I thought he was terrific in this film.
I am not for sure I would have thought of Angela Bassett for that roll but I really liked her as De Niro's lover.

I give this movie *****

Before It Rains

This movie brings anger up in how women around the world are treated like worthless, it also shows me how women have evolved in the past 90 years.

Peaceful Warrior

I really love the way Nick Nolte can pull it together long enough to make a movie, this was a great movie for Nick and he looked really good too. I don't really know Scott Mechlowicz but he reminded me of Keanu Reeves, not in his looks but the way he acted. I was sure I had seen Amy Smart of course I looked up other movies both of them had stared in and I saw only one I could recommend. That would be "Mean Creek" (I gave that 3 stars). I do like the fact that this was based on a true story but it really reminded me of "Karate Kid" I would say that an older audience would probably prefer "Peaceful Warrior" but what I really like about this CD was that the bonus material was also worth watching, Dan Millman's story was great. Loved the music video!

Digging To China

I had seen this movie in the late 90's and remembered liking it. I love the movie "Across The Universe" and when I saw that Even Rachel Wood was also a child actress I had to watch it again.
It was a nice surprise to find that not only did Timothy Hutton direct the movie this was his directors debut. WOW great job, for first time out! When I see movies that deal with going to school, especially when children have differences, it takes me back to how much I hated school. Even in those good old days children were mean, I loved that it showed knowledge can also change the minds of children too. I have always been a huge fan of Kevin Bacon from "Foot Loose" on and once again he does not disappoint. Mary Stuart Masterson plays some of the greatest rolls although this was not my favorite of hers but she played the part well. Cathy Moriarty was perfect in her roll because you could see the love hate from early on as an alcoholic mom. The setting was beautiful in a small woodsy town, the props were great and it reminded me of a time when life was a little bit slower. With that said I thought the movie also went a little slow. I understood that Timothy wanted to come full circle but maybe there were a few more scene he could have cut.
